GERMANTOWN — Germantown police on Tuesday, February 7th identified the 23-year-old woman from Milwaukee who was struck by three vehicles and killed on Monday morning, February 6th. The victim was positively identified Susie Pane Boyd.

It happened on County Line Road near Tree Tops Drive around 6:00 a.m.

Police are calling this a tragic accident.

“She was walking westbound in the westbound lanes of traffic. She was struck. She landed in the eastbound lanes of traffic and two more vehicles struck her while in the eastbound lanes of traffic,” Germantown Police Chief Peter Hoell said.

The crash shut down a section of County Line Road for several hours Monday morning.

“Officers did attempt CPR, but she was pronounced dead on the scene,” Chief Hoell said.

Chief Hoell said the initial striking vehicle remained at the scene.

“He knew that he had hit something, so he pulled over to see what it was, but the other two went through a debris field where the victim was laying and third one may not even know they struck anything,” Chief Hoell said.

The second vehicle was located.

“It`s fair to say that both drivers are shaken up by the ordeal. You`re not expecting to see a pedestrian in the middle of a busy road,” Chief Hoell said.

Police are still looking for the third vehicle.

“We`d like them to come forward so we can complete our investigation and find out what they saw,” Chief Hoell said.

Police said the victim has just finished work and was walking to a bus route when she was struck.

She was wearing dark clothing and the street was not lit up.

“I think because of the location, it was dark, and that is not something a driver would anticipate being in the middle of the road,” Chief Hoell said.

Chief Hoell said at this point, he does not anticipate any charges against the striking drivers. He did ask that anyone with information about the third vehicle call police.

MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee woman has been charged in connection with a fatal crash that happened near 36th and Wisconsin on February 17th. At the time of the crash, police said the victim in the case had just stolen plastic bins from a nearby Walgreens store.

Samantha Walker

Samantha Walker

26-year-old Samantha Walker faces the following charges:

  • Homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle
  • Homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration
  • Knowingly operating a motor vehicle while suspended, causing death

According to a criminal complaint, on February 17th around 3:00 a.m., Milwaukee police were dispatched to the scene of a crash at 36th and Wisconsin. A man was found lying in the road, motionless and not breathing. A white SUV was stopped at the scene, with severe front end damage. A woman was found standing against a building near the SUV.

The victim was identified as Reynaldo Wilson. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful, and Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy revealed he suffered multiple blunt force injuries, leading to his death.

The complaint says Walker told investigators she was headed westbound on Wisconsin Avenue when she spotted Wilson. She said she “tried to slow down, but didn’t slow down fast enough,” and she struck Wilson.

Surveillance video from a nearby Walgreens store showed Wilson had stolen some plastic bins from behind the store, and he was in the process of carrying them across the street when he was struck. The bins were found in the street and median after the crash.

According to the complaint, investigators were able to learn Walker was traveling at a high rate of speed based on the distance between the bins and the way they were strewn about the scene, and the damage to Walker’s vehicle. Surveillance video from a nearby school and business confirmed Walker was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. It was further confirmed by data from the vehicle’s “Airbag Control Module,” which showed her vehicle was traveling at 75 miles-per-hour five seconds before the crash, and at 81 miles-per-hour at the time of the crash. The speed limit on Wisconsin Avenue is 30 miles-per-hour.

Walker’s blood was taken at the hospital and sent to the Crime Lab for analysis. That analysis found a blood alcohol level of .135.

The complaint says Walker told investigators on the night of the crash, she had been visiting a friend, and consumed “three drinks” and “smoked two to three marijuana blunts.”

WEST MILWAUKEE -- The West Milwaukee Police Department is again asking for anyone with any information on a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016 to come forward.

44-year-old Peggy Cetnarowski was struck by a hit-and-run driver around 11:00 p.m. at the crosswalk of Beloit and Mitchell. The mother of three survived her injuries long enough to be treated at a hospital. But she was later pronounced brain-dead. Several of her organs have been donated.

The driver never stopped. And loved ones are demanding justice.

"She had just moved into a house right near that intersection. My hope is that somebody can identify the truck, or know who it maybe belongs to and can call in more tips to West Milwaukee police," Donna Tipton, Cetnarowski's sister said.

"There was another motorist that came along and saw the individual and came back around to check on her and then we got the 911 calls," West Milwaukee Police Chief Dennis Nasci said.

Mother of 3 struck by hit-and-run driver

According to a CaringBridge.org page, Cetnarowski suffered a broken arm, cracked and broken ribs, a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.

Police said the family has offered a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Family members said Cetnarowski was a mother of three, and two of her children are teenagers with special needs.

Donna Tipton

Donna Tipton

"It's horrible," Tipton said. "Bottom line, her kids need closure. I mean, I'm her sister, and yeah, it would help me, but I want that closure for her children. If anybody knows anything, think about the kids. How can you help them? If this was your family, if these were your kids, would you want somebody to come forward and help them?"

Police do not have a solid description of the striking vehicle -- but said they are working this case vigorously.

If anyone has information regarding the owner and /or operator of the pick-up truck seen in the photographs, they are encouraged to contact the West Milwaukee Police Department at 414-645-2151.

DODGE COUNTY -- A 27-year-old Beaver Dam man died from injuries suffered in a wreck early Sunday, February 26th. Another 27-year-old Beaver Dam man in the vehicle was also hurt -- and investigators say alcohol may have played a role.

Officials with the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said the wreck happened just after 3:00 a.m. on County Highway D near Zimmerman Drive in the Township of Beaver Dam.

"I didn't think it was that serious looking at first," Gloria Hartwig said.

Scene of fatal crash in Beaver Dam

A preliminary investigation revealed the driver was headed westbound on County Highway D near the intersection with Zimmerman Drive. The vehicle traveled left of the centerline of the roadway and crossed over the eastbound lane of County Highway D. Officials said the vehicle gradually entered the snow-covered south side ditch, and began to rotate in a clockwise manner. The vehicle continued westbound in the snow-covered ditch before striking a utility pole.

"The driver's door was dented in. The telephone pole was laying on top of the car," Hartwig said.

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt

"The car hit that pole right at the base and it just tumbled right over top of the car," Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said.

Officials said both occupants of the vehicle exited the vehicle and ran approximately a half mile to the home of the driver on County Highway D. Both men received significant injuries as a result of the crash. Once at the home, one of the men became unresponsive and was later pronounced dead. The other man was transported to Beaver Dam Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

"We see that far too often where somebody has been under the influence of alcohol and they don't want to be caught and they take that gamble of going home and trying to call it in later or come up with different excuses like it was stolen, but when you have injuries like this, you need to take care of yourself and make sure you can go home safely at the end of the day and we don't have a tragedy like we do here," Sheriff Schmidt said.

"We don't like to people getting hurt out here -- especially as young as the person apparently was," Hartwig said.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY — 27-year-old Corkey Mayer of East Troy has been criminally charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened Thursday, February 23rd near 98th and Greenfield in West Allis. Thomas Jorgenson was killed in the crash.

The crash happened around 1:15 a.m. Two others were hurt, including the accused.

Corkey Mayer

Corkey Mayer

Mayer now faces one count of hit-and-run resulting in death, one count of hit-and-run causing great bodily harm, one count of operating a motor vehicle while revoked, causing the death of another and one count of operating a motor vehicle while revoked, causing great bodily harm to another.

According to a criminal complaint, when police were dispatched to the scene, they found an SUV on the grass median that separates the eastbound and westbound lanes of Greenfield Avenue. A 23-year-old woman was found lying on the ground next to the SUV. She was “screaming in pain,” and said “Corkey was driving.”

A Chevy Caprice was found at the scene with extensive damage. It was up against the north curb of the westbound lane of Greenfield Avenue. The complaint notes that the vehicle was struck with such force it was “in the shape of a crescent.” Jorgenson was found behind the wheel of the Chevy. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several witnesses advised that the driver of the SUV fled the scene after the crash. Witnesses provided a physical description of the suspect and said his face was “covered in blood.”

Officers found Corkey Mayer trying to open the door to a detached garage in the area, after tracking him through backyards. He was arrested and taken to Froedtert Hospital.

The complaint says officers noticed an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from Mayer, and noticed he was exhibiting signs of impairment, including red and glassy eyes, slurred speech and poor balance. The complaint says Mayer fought with paramedics and police in the ambulance as he was transported to the hospital, and a Taser had to be used on him “several times.”

The medical examiner’s report noted there were open containers of alcohol found in the vehicle Mayer was driving.

At the hospital, a laceration to his lip resulted in 20 stitches. A sample of his blood was taken at the hospital as well.

Meanwhile, the medical examiner performed an autopsy on Jorgenson. It was determined he died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries caused by the crash.

The 23-year-old woman found hurt at the scene was treated at the hospital for two fractured femurs and a broken ankle. She had to have surgery to save her legs, and she also had some of her teeth knocked out during the crash.

The complaint says an investigation revealed prior to the crash, the SUV allegedly driven by Mayer was headed westbound on Greenfield Avenue in the lane closest to the median, and the Chevy driven by Jorgenson was headed eastbound on Greenfield Avenue. Jorgenson’s vehicle had pulled into the center of the intersection, apparently attempting to turn left onto 98th Street.

Based upon the violence of the impact, investigators suspected speed was a factor in this crash.

Denice Fells died as a result of the wreck.

"She was a really nice person, happy, smiling," Lydia Correa.

"It was amazing to see the love she shared with everyone," said Monique Long, Fells' sister. "She would reach out to others in the community and do what she can to help people."

"I didn't know how to accept it," said Larry Barlow, Fells' brother. "I hate to think my sister is gone over a careless driver."

According to the medical examiner's report, Fells had just gotten off a bus on Saturday evening, March 4th with her motorized scooter -- and was crossing the street near 17th and Vliet. She stopped in the median to wait when the light turned red. A purple car ran the red light and sped through the intersection. That car was then struck by a van. The car then spun around, hitting Fells on her scooter, throwing her body across the street.

One of the suspects ran from the scene, but was caught. Two people were taken into custody for their alleged involvement.

"Shocked. Trying to come to terms with what has happened," Barlow said.

Loved ones said they are coping with the loss by finding strength in their faith.

"God is in control. Even though we may not understand the method in which He decided to take her home, that's OK with me because she is not suffering anymore," Long said. "I believe that she is with Jesus and she is happy."

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police have arrested the driver involved in a crash that killed a 16-year-old girl near 13th and Bolivar Monday afternoon, March 6th. The 18-year-old Milwaukee man is the brother of the victim. He is now facing possible second degree reckless homicide charges.

Police identified the 16-year-old girl killed in the crash as Lisandra Munoz-Sanchez.

Students left St. Anthony School for the day on Tuesday, March 7th -- just as Munoz-Sanchez did with her brother 24 hours prior.

On Monday afternoon, officials said the brother, with Munoz-Sanchez in his passenger seat, was racing another car on South 13th Street.

A witness told FOX6 News the other vehicle stopped briefly, but then kept going.

"There is a lot of shock, especially related to Lisandra, because she's such a warm, caring, well-liked individual," said Chris Joch, St. Anthony High School principal.

Principal Joch said he would see the victim and her brother often.

The school has counselors on hand for students who wish to discuss the loss. The ministry plays an important role and is moving forward organizing a funeral at St. Anthony's Church.

Principal Joch said he is also well liked, and an athlete at St. Anthony School.

Milwaukee Alderman Jose Perez released the following statement on the tragedy:

"I join other members of the South Side community today in grieving the death of a 16-year-old girl, a student at St. Anthony School, who was killed when the car in which she was riding crashed into a cement truck yesterday at S. 13th Street and W. Bolivar Ave.

Our thoughts and prayers are also with her 18-year-old brother, who was driving when the crash happened, and all of their friends, family and neighbors.

The sad truth is that police say high speeds likely played a role in causing this crash. While it pains me to say it, this tragedy may have been entirely preventable.

Please remember that, as the temperatures climb, so too does the incidence of speeding and reckless driving. Parents, please talk to your children about the importance of driving the speed limit, obeying traffic signals and operating in a safe manner.

This sort of thing happens far too often in our community."
