MILWAUKEE (WITI) — A second person has now been charged in connection with a fatal crash that happened at 84th and Wilbur in Milwaukee. 17-year-old Damian Ward was charged on Tuesday, March 3rd with one count of operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent (knowing passenger).
According to the criminal complaint, Ward admitted being a passenger in an SUV that struck and killed a couple on the afternoon of February 22nd. The SUV was stolen. The complaint says Ward admitted to “being a member of the Gangster Disciples and hanging out with the Cut throat mob. He further admitted to being involved in more than four robberies on the south side.”
The victims in this case were 74-year-old Bernard Hanson and 64-year-old Mary Hanson. They lived about a block away from where the crash occurred.
If convicted, Ward faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.
